MAKE IT YOUR HIGH: I really just write what comes to my mind ( I dont even like to spellcheck), I always took interest in visualizing and writing down songs. But as for english my ideas we're always all over the place. Yeah, that too for example was a random opener for this post.. but it's to safe guard my shit. Anyways, Here's a thought from a different place in my mind I've been meaning to post about. What's your high? Besides your lady friend MJ.. what is yours? Mine is music. One thing from music is the interactive performance aspect. If your really just starting out and trying to make a name for yourself (like we are), You realize small intimate venues packed with passionate listeners are one of the biggest treats! Back in July 24 2010, we did a show at Kensington market called KULTURA. It was held outdoors, had a stage, several tents with art and food. Great vibe on a summery day.. except on this day it was torrential down pour. We couldn't hit the stage.. coz it wasn't safe. Our band consists of electrical shit.. like amps and all that fancy stuff.

The co-ordinators made some decisions on the fly and we ended up moving everyone from the event to their indoor store (the basement). There was art set up everywhere, intimate warm lighting and it was cool to the ear to just hear a collective of murmurs from the people rather than the rain hitting the tent covers. I mean everyone was soaking wet. At this point im trying to help the band carry shit down, scared someone might slip going down the stairs.. setting up and stuff,.. but the crowd remained positive.. So.. sound check. J and I go off to the side, He says a little prayer. And to the sound of markey's opening keys we hit the stage. I can honestly say that was one of my favourite shows.. (there have been wilder ones with crowd surfs and all) but this one was different. Performing in a basement with the ceiling low..the sound felt warmer. Even though we were drenched in the rain for 2 hrs or soo.. performing and hearing our band back us is one of the most greatest HIGHS of all time. Hopefully if your into music, cooking, painting, building forts, collecting stamps, or whatever your passionate about.. make it your high.
